What is Flo’s Club?
While we’re in our second official year of Flo’s Club, Carina has over ten years of aquatic education experience. Starting at Janet Barber Aquatics, Carina has taught all ages from infants to adults, instructing both from the standards and practices of the Canadian Red Cross and the Life Saving Society.
She is a certified Swim Instructor and Lifeguard, and has taught a diverse range of students from newcomers and refugees, to nondivergent and non-swimmers. Flo’s Club and Carina strive to host a safe and inclusive space for everyone to learn how to swim by prioritizing compassion, patience and encouragement.
When the pool’s closed, Carina is a registered social worker who works with school aged children.
We’re looking forward to swimming with you!

Important Info (Please Read!)
-
As always, classes will cost $460 per swimmer for 8 classes at my home, and $520 per swimmer for away pools.
Classes run for either 30 minutes or 1 hour per student.
For more information, please read the Payment & Pricing section on the Booking Lessons page.
-
Please make sure that the Print Package (linked at the bottom of the Booking Lessons page) is completed in full before our first session.
These forms are really important for documentation purposes, and we will not be able to swim on the first day if the forms aren’t completed.
If you are unable to print the forms please let me know and I will have the package printed for you to fill out on the first day of classes.
-
Please make sure in the initial email to me you include the dates and times you’d like for lessons
Example: June 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, July 6, 8, 10, all at 10am -
Before you come to lessons, please go over the following with your children:
No running on the pool deck
No spitting or blowing your nose in the pool
No flips into the pool
No throwing pool toys or equipment
No rough play in or around the pool
Please listen to your instructor
Please use the bathroom before you leave the house
For parents and guardians, I have a few additional requests this summer:
If your child is sick, please reschedule their lesson
If your child is under 7 years old, please remain in the pool area during their lesson
If you are 15 minutes late without notice, I will postpone class
Unless it has started raining, please don’t sit up on the deck. You are welcome to sit on the lounge chairs, at the back table, or the big table!
Washroom Visits: Emergencies happen and in those instances I have no problem letting swimmers use the downstairs washroom, but for good measure please make sure your child uses the restroom prior to class.
-
As of April 5th, I will be away for the following dates:
August 24th to 28th
There will be a few days throughout the summer where I will unavailable, and will be blocked off in the public calendar at the start of summer.
Some of these dates and times are still pending, but I will try to give everyone a few weeks heads up if plans change.
